What are you passionate about?

I'm passionate about all things human rights, design, and communication.

How does your passion serve your purpose?

A huge part of why I'm here on earth, my purpose, is to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. So by using communication/graphic design and writing, I am able to speak to the issues of human rights violations in our world and be a catalyst for change.

Since this COVID-19 pandemic started, what are some ways you’ve been able to keep your peace & avoid ‘freaking out”?

My most challenging times during COVID-19 are:

  • Experiencing sadness and grief as I mourn the lives of loved ones I’ve lost

  • Thinking about individuals in my nation and around the world that are oppressed and trapped in situations of injustice.

  • Generally overwhelmed with work.

To keep my peace and avoid ‘freaking out’ I pray to God for the wisdom to make strategic and impactful decisions that will best support the people whose freedom I fight for.

I also take time to converse with like-minded individuals to be sharpened and inspired to take another challenging step.

Are you working on any interesting projects? Please share them & how the Awomi Tribe can support.

In response to the increase of families experiencing food insecurity, I created the #loveishere initiative where 20% of all purchases of my artwork and pin buttons go directly to one of the few remaining food pantries on Long Island, The Experience Pantry in Rockville Centre. Within 2 months they have gone from serving 114 families to 221 families. I have always wanted to give more to established causes and organizations in my community, and this was my opportunity to do so.

As that initiative continues, I am working on three projects simultaneously. I am currently writing a book for the younger generation of women and girls to know their worth and value in God’s eyes, and to break free from the imprisoning expectations and limitations set by our society.

The second project I’m working on is another initiative that will support organizations that are committed to dealing with systemic racism and injustice in America and bringing about lasting change in the lives of our people.

Lastly, I hope to release a podcast entitled “Freedom Fridays” next Friday, June 19th, 2020. Freedom is the focus. All For Freedom was founded to create multimedia art and action plans that will set people free in various ways, from physical slavery, like human trafficking, to mental slavery such as breaking down the invisible roadblocks in your life.

You can support by:

  • Reposting promos about future art, book, merchandise, and podcast launches.

  • Become a patron of the shop and/or subscriber to content that gets released.
